The History Museum is pleased to announce the launch of its History in the Making campaign to raise $1.57 million. Share Your Sports History

The History Museum is looking for historic objects, photographs and stories relating to local sports. The Museum’s professional staff is researching and designing a new 3,000-square-foot exhibit to be unveiled next April titled, Sports & Spirit. Learn more about sharing your sports history »

Tuesdays, September 9th through October 21st, 2008, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Beginning Genealogy Class
Students will learn basic genealogical research principals and techniques as well as proper recording and note taking. The resources valuable to genealogists in historical societies, genealogical societies, libraries, the internet, and the Family History Library of the Church of Latter Day Saints will be discussed. A variety of materials will be displayed, explained and analyzed such as: census records, city/county histories and directories, genealogies, indexes, maps and miscellaneous collections. The proper use of primary and secondary materials and copy-write observance will be included. The cost of the class is $30 for non-members of the Museum and $15 for Museum members.

Saturday, October 11th, 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Music at the Museum
It’s back! Enjoy three floors of live music, catered food, and entertainment. In addition, there will be tasting stations, entertainment and guests will have access to all exhibits. $75 per person. All proceeds benefit The History Museum. Contact Lee to purchase tickets or purchase tickets online.

Friday, October 24th, 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Magic Workshop
Come to The History Museum to learn magic tricks and illusions with magician Lou Lepore’. Keep kids engaged on this school in-service day. Great for kids aged 8-13. Workshop is $12/ child. Price includes all magic materials, a snack and admission to A.K.A. Houdini. Contact Carolyn to register.

An award-winning exhibit highlighting the History Museum's important collection of performance paraphernalia and historic documents relating to Harry Houdini.

The Times They Are a Changin'
The Rock 'n Roll, Civil Rights, Vietnam, Space Program and other 60s topics are related in this exhibit through the experiences of local people.
