Introduction

The Call to Duty: Outagamie County in World War II curriculum is designed to accompany the Call to Duty: Outagamie County in World War II exhibit open at the Outagamie Museum from November 12, 2002 through August 15, 2004. Educators planning a tour of this exhibit may use the curriculum to prepare their students for their visit to the museum. The curriculum addresses several facets of World War II study and coordinates with the social studies curriculum for the Appleton public school system. It provides insight into the experiences of Outagamie County residents during the World War II era, and seeks to connect those experiences to nation-wide themes.

The curriculum may be used with 2nd through 6th graders, and is designed particularly with 4th through 6th graders in mind. Please feel free to make copies of the activities included for educational use. The curriculum is copyrighted by the Outagamie County Historical Society.
