Call to Duty: Outagamie County in World War II

Minnie Schwandt

Minnie came to the US from Germany in 1892 as a three year old girl. During the war, she told neighbors that she was born in Neenah, Wisconsin, to avoid any association with her homeland. Minnie supported her family by catering dinners at local churches.
